Obsidian

In the late 19th century, an American explorer named Jack Hall discovered an ancient Native American tribal site in the Colorado Canyon. Among the ruins of an altar, he found an obsidian pendant, about 7 centimeters long, with a cold, gleaming surface. The pendant was adorned with raw turquoise, bone-carved totems, and handcrafted silver accents, strung on a high-quality Goros-style deerskin cord, exuding a primal yet mystical aura.

An elderly tribal elder told him the pendant was called Moonlit Arrow, a relic of the tribe’s greatest hunter, known as Moon Shadow. Legend had it that on a full moon night, Moon Shadow used this pendant to shoot down a falling star. The star’s fragments turned into turquoise, and the pendant was imbued with the power to guide souls. If the wearer held the pendant toward the sky on a full moon, they could see the spirits of departed loved ones—but at the cost of fulfilling an unfinished mission.

Jack brought the pendant back to the city, but soon he began dreaming of a buckskin-clad hunter, bow in hand, aiming at the heavens. On one full moon night, Jack raised the pendant toward the window. The turquoise glowed an eerie blue, and the bone totems seemed to quiver like living things. He saw the phantom of a woman standing in the moonlight, whispering, “Find the star’s fragments. Fulfill Moon Shadow’s oath.”

Today, the pendant sits in a New York antique shop, labeled as a “19th-century Native American artifact.” Yet, on every full moon, the shop’s lights flicker inexplicably, as if someone is murmuring about an unfulfilled mission.
